If you aren’t familiar with the Bell Witch, it’s a very old legend that dates back to the early 1800’s.  Actually, it’s suppose to be the only documented case of a ghost actually harming someone.  In this case, the spirit reportedly killed John Bell.  The movie ‘American Haunting’ was based on the story and it features Donald Sutherland and Sissy Spacek.   I thought it was a pretty decent movie.  Does it follow true historical record? That will be up to the experts to decide.

When I was still doing my radio show, ‘Dimensions: Encounters with the Unknown’ I interviewed a man who had been researching the Bell Witch legend for years.  Pat Fitzhugh has talked with many people in and around the town of Adams, TN to find out as much as he can about the legend.  He’s reportedly talked to the ancestors of the Bell family who still live in that part of Tennessee, as well with historical experts on Adams, TN and the Bell Witch such as Tim Henson.  Here’s the interview I did with Pat on what he’s found out to be true, and not so true, on the legend of the Bell Witch.  I’ve removed the commercials and music transitions from the show, so it may seem to be a little choppy at times.

At the time I did  this interview there was a person who worked with me at the radio station that was directly connected to the legend.  Brad Bell is a direct descendant of the Bell family of Adams, TN.  Even today, his family sometimes blames ‘bad luck’ on the witch.

There’s also a cave that is connected with the Bell Witch Legend.  ‘The Bell Witch Cave’ is the site where supposedly strange and unexplained things have happened.  Is it connected to the Witch or not?  Who knows.  I’ve been to the site twice, and although it is a very creepy place, we had nothing out of the ordinary happen while we were there.  However, many other people have claimed to have had paranormal experiences in and around the cave itself. The site is now on private property and in 2008 was placed on the National Historical Registry.

The first location I want to tell you about is a private residence in La Grange. The owners (married couple) have lived in the home for several years. From the first day of occupancy, the wife Jamie, has felt their presence. She’s been open to the paranormal since she was a young child and is quite ’sensitive’ to such activity (even though sometimes she wishes she wasn’t!). P.R.O.O.V. made an initial visit to the house several years ago. I’ll tell you more about that when I get all the video from that investigation online. In the meantime, I made a more recent visit after Jamie called me to let me know that the activity in her home had begun to take a dark turn. She would almost always notice when ’something’ was around. Either through feeling a presence nearby or by hearing sounds in the home that couldn’t be explained. But now something was apparently attacking her 5-year-old son. The boy was complaining of someone slapping him while he was in bed. I had asked if it was possible that he was just saying this to get attention as some kids do. But Jamie said that she could actually see the redness on her son’s face and that he would normally use other methods to gain attention when he felt the need. I called a friend of mine who I had on DimensionsRadio as a guest in the past, Bishop James Long. Bishop Long is an exorcist. He specializes in helping people get rid of evil and sometimes, demonic entities. I wasn’t sure this is exactly what she was dealing with or not, but figured it wouldn’t hurt to have James come out and do a cleansing for her.

Shortly after making contact with Bishop James, we set a Saturday night to do the investigation on the home. Bishop James and a couple of assistants met me at my house and we followed each other to Jamie’s house. James went through the home in every single room and blessed each doorway and window..this is done to “seal” off the exits of the negative entity if one is around. We did have an odd thing happen while on the second floor of the house. The alarm clock radio in the youngest child’s room, which had been working fine all night, suddenly began flashing the time. It kept switching time very quickly and then suddenly stopped on 12:23. Bishop Long made a comment that this time meant something relating to Jesus in the Catholic faith. No one had been in the room to touch the clock or to set it in any way.

The last location to visit was the house’s cellar. This is one location Jamie fears going. She has a terrible feeling whenever she’s in the cellar, and rarely, if ever, goes down there. Here’s what happened when we all went down with Bishop Long.

Welcome to the new site! For those of you who have been regular visitors, thank you! And for those who are brand new….I hope you enjoy it.

This all started with a radio show in Louisville, Kentucky called Dimensions: Encounters with the Unknown. It was the city’s only Paranormal related talk show, featuring guests such as Nuclear Phisicist & U.F.O. investigator, Stanton Friedman, who is best known for his research into the alleged Roswell crash of 1947. Allison DuBois, the real life ‘Medium’ upon which NBC based their series and Paranormal Investigator/Demonologist Lorraine Warren of Amityville fame.

I absolutely loved doing the show, but due to the fact this was my ’side’ project and I paid for the airtime myself, I eventually had to close the mic on the show for good. However, the program did open the door for me to fill in for George Noory on ‘Coast to Coast AM’ on a couple of occasions!

Since then, I’ve continued with my fascination of the Paranormal and Unexplained. Lately, I’ve been working with a local Paranormal Research Group (P.R.O.O.V.) investigating reported hauntings in and around the Louisville area. I’ve also just finished my very first video project called ‘Waverly Hills: The True Story.’ This video explores the history and paranormal activity associated with one of America’s most legendary haunts. Thus, the reason you haven’t seen many updates to this website for quite some time!! I apologize for that. You’ll still be able to find the old Dimensions radio shows here in the archives, but I also want to bring you new audio and video interviews, short films on the unexplained and take you along on some of my paranormal investigations. At the same time, I want you to be able to get involved a bit! You’ll now be able to post comments here about the content as well as lend your own experiences to share.

This will be a work in progress for a little while, but I hope you enjoy!
